WHAT IS  SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION?

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a additional process applied to a website to increase the chances  that it will be found (and ranked high) by search engines.

This process should not be ignored, or underestimated, as it is a proven statistic that most users of the internet tend to use their favourite Search Engine (Google, Yahoo, AOL etc.) to find what they are looking for. The majority of these people do not proceed past the first 3 pages of the results found.

A good looking website is more likely to keep viewers than a ugly site but this should not keep you from, and take preference over, optimising your site to get the viewers in the first place.

Many people are under the false impression that all they have to do is put a site onto the web and visitors will flock to it.

IF ONLY!!!!!!

It`s true that some search engines will find you but without having appropriate keywords/phrases it will be like the proverbial needle in a haystack" when it comes to searching for it.

IT IS THEREFORE ESSENTIAL TO BE RANKED HIGH

TWO LEVELS OF OPTIMISATION ARE PROVIDED

BASIC (£35.00)

This is the level applied to all the websites that have been designed by Tom's website design.

THIS SHOULD BE ACCEPTABLE FOR MOST USERS

The service comprises:

Inclusion of keywords/keyphrases, website TITLE and DESCRIPTION into the correct META tags. (OBTAINED AFTER AN INITIAL  CONSULTATION WITH THE USER)

Creation of a robots.txt file (to inform the search engine robots how to `spider` your website) and the creation of a sitemap file (to notify the search engines of the existence of all the website pages).

Registration of the website with many search engines (inc. Google).

No guarantees can be given on the site being ranked high as the web is growing at a phenomenal rate so that good keywords/phrases are becoming increasingly hard to find.

ADVANCED (£80.00)

As above with the addition of :

keyword research and analysis. Website audit (quality check) and changes made accordingly.

Analysis of website content and changes made. These changes are only done after a consultation with you (the user) as a web page that is totally Search Engine friendly may not be viewer friendly so a compromise has to be reached.
